The kaval is one of the most diffused musical folk instruments used a lot by the Bulgarians from long time ago still now. It's used in the whole Bulgaria
Kaval (Whistle) is bow Musical instrument with a pleasant tender sound. It is produced from almond, plum, cornel wood, box tree and others. It is a wooden barrel divided in 3 parts. Different parts have different size and distance between the holes depending on the tune. These are separated to C-kaval, D-kaval, E-kaval. At the ends of each part inlays from tin or silver can be made making the instrument more varicoloured and beautiful.
